The dish size depends on which satellite(s) you intend to be watching.
 
Hotbird 13 degree east for sly Italia and Astra 28.2 degree east for sly uk. And anything else that is likely to cover Liverpool games.
 
1 or 1.1 meter dish would be ok that would get you most satelilites up here.

if your just after Sky italia and uk sky you can go for a multilnb set-up instead of motorised. Also 19e can be added very easy so you would get.

The good

fast channel changing between satellites.
no moving parts.
cheaper install
alot of dream box's have trouble with motors so more reliable.

The bad
can only get the fixed satellites no others.

Sorry for the late reply. Do I need 3 dishes to get the 3 satelites or is it 2? How much is the total charge for this and when would you be able to do it? I now have my DM500HD. I also want to run a couple of feeds 2 two other rooms just for UK freesat boxes from the set up too.

Hi Jon, I would be grateful if you are able to help and give me some idea of price if i can have pm enabled. I have installed my motorised 1m dish and spiderbox but having problems with alignment and dish angles. I am based in Ellesmere Port

You only need 1 dish for this setup. You need to have PM activated as we cannot discuss prices publically on here
 
hi i live in the L32 area of liverpool just wondering i got sky dish on side of house could i use that for motorised system or would i need other one i want to receive football movies etc not just from this country if not how much for a motorised dish install i want to receive between 13 degrees e to past 28.2e could u pm me and could i have youre website :)
 
Sky mini dish's are far too small to be able to put on a motor i have pm you

is it poss to enable pm as i would like to discuss with jonwisebey or anyone about having a 88cm motorised dish and protek HD receiver installed to pick up all the footy and a few other channels want to know if its worth sacking off my sky HD plus costs involved

Doesn't work like that as previously stated in this thread, state your exact requirements in the thread, the installer will respond if interested, then admin will enable PM's not before
 
Hi scudda i take it your wanting to use the protek receiver for card sharing. if so i can install a dish for you and tune in wanted channels but i dont do anything with unlocking encrypted channels the cost of the install depends on what spec system you wish. Once your pm is activated i can get your detials and discuss price etc

im not sure on my exact requirements as i dont know about all this satellite techno i only have a sky hd box thats why i wanted to pm someone so i can get in touch and speak over phone or meet up to tell them what i watch, how do i record. and costs etc

I'm not totally sure what I want but after reading up a bit on here, I think I want a installation that will receive 13e, 19.2e & 28.2e connecting to a media centre pc in one room and a freesat box that I'm happy to just get 28.2e in in another room

I don't want the a dish on the front so since I live in a terraced house I guess it needs to go on the chimney breast.

I am open to options, depending on price.

as you want to use to recievers off one dish + the fact the dish needs to installed in less than ideal location which means it will be less protected against wind, i recomend a multi lnb dish setup. 1 dish three lnbs 13e 19e on single lnb 28 on twin you will beable to see all three satellites on your media centre and your freesat box will see uk freesat.
 
What would you suggest if I changed my mind about having the dish on the front of the house ?

Other than being a bit snooty the other reason why I thought chimney might be better was because the freesat only room is upstairs at the back of the house and the media centre is front downstairs
