I've stuck this here since I have a 3D model, on the repair bench, but the question relates to similar aged screens.

The Samsung app within these TVs still accepts updates, but since Youtube adjusted its format, there is no longer an opportunity to look for or play this format.

So, has anyoone found a bypass or is it permanent 'lights out' unless a third party device is used ?

From Samsung's own forum (now deleted)

'Stick TV in development mode and install your own app ...'

Does Youtube work on the web browser?

No, it's not listed and a search throws up no app (tried 'youtube', 'you', 'tube' etc.)

Can't find anything to suggest it's possible. Casting from a phone or tablet may be possible.

As I read the threads elsewhere, casting prevents limits viewing of whatever definition of video to 480.
