Looks like Astra 2A is moving on next week, heading west according to SES Centre of Box info. Presumably to 23.5E as backup if the existing plan is still in effect?

As reported in another thread, it also looks like the Astra 2C data transponders at 11.009V and 11.186V could how have copies on either 2E or 2F at 12.522V and 12.552V so this could mean Astra 2C is going to be shut down soon. Perhaps she too will be on the move to a new home in the not too distant future?

Was 2A launched in 1998? That's quite an old satellite - must be close to EOL.

Yes, launched in 1998 so about 16-17 years old.

At the moment it doesn't look like Astra 2A is going far, seems to be heading for 28.08E.

2A will probably go into inclined orbit at 28.02 like 2D did. 2C might still have enough fuel to service as additional capacity at 23.5 East....

Astra 2C from today may start drifting slowly to 28.0° or 28.05°E.
But also watch this similar CoB prediction for Astra 2E !

So eutelsat webpage was actually right, and 28.5 slot is again used. But not by 2g, but 2e.

Not that surprising about Astra 2E being manoeuvred towards 28.5 East, as it has a Middle-East Ku band beam, but would need adequate separation from the Badr craft at 26 East to reduce potential interference, though this might depend on what frequencies SES intend to use, for example the 10.95-11.2GHz sub-band is not in use at present at 26 East.

Would 2g or 2f move to 28.35?

Looks like Astra 2C is going to be going east soon judging from the CoB data.

You meant Astra 2A is moving towards 28.0/28.05? at least according to SES center of box webpage.

Yes, I meant Astra 2A. :-ohcrap

Now also the Window center of Astra 2A has been changed to 28.05°E, in ephemeris/CoB table.

Today again changes to Window center!
Astra 2A: 28.0°E
Astra 2E: 28.5°E (to be reached on 1 August)

Astra 2C has left 28.3°E yesterday, now already past 29°E and drifting 1° East per day.
No new location (yet) in ephemeris or CoB.

Astra 2C destination is 60.3°E, arrival on 1 September.

A long way from home considering she's been hanging around the Western European spots until now.

ASTRA 2C is moving east very slowly now (Out of my range now it has gone past 54 east)
