Make sure you return your router at the end of your contract or you will get a hefty none reurn fee.

Anyone who has an unwanted router lying around can return it free

That article is nearly three years old.

I returned mine and still got a letter after six months asking me to return it, lucky that I got a proof of posting.

Last time I asked Virginmedia for a newer router (probably 5-7 yrs go) I asked them what I should do with the old one -> just recycle (which I did) or bin it!

The opposite in a way happened last time I joined BT, they kept sending me routers! I had like 5 in the end, still all in the loft. Left BT 6 years ago now and they never wanted them all back, their routers are crap anyway!

Here, if you end your contract with Orange, they want your router back (because it's basically rented from them) and will charge you the retail price if they don't get it back.
