Is this a regualar thing?

Or do they only do this when at the start of the season?

I thought they had stopped this now?
I'm surprised how many time it turn up during a game!
 
No, I think they do it for all of the season for anyone using a Sky Italia box, it's so that any pubs using one can be identified and the card switched off.

Only had it for a few weeks, and only noticed it the last couple of matches.

Seems like it's popping up every 10mins or so!
 
this is happening with the official receiver ?

how is the card number display in the either corner of the screen as i've not got mine yet and this might bother me.
 
Yes official Reciever.

Mine shows up in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
 
To avoid this happening, I've noticed that some are using a Technomate receiver to to watch it on, but the card needs to be popped back into the Sky Italia box for it to update.

Really? I couldnt get my $ky Italia card to work in my Technomate (But in receiver terms it pre date's Christ, its a TM 6800HD+ ). Worked in my Spiderbox 7000HD no probs & I didnt have to worry about the text generator from the official Samsung I have.

What's happening with your card mate? The U.K. dealer still messing about?
 
I heard if you pause it for 5 seconds and then play it then the number doesn't show. Not sure if that's true

yeah got messed about for 2 weeks but have ordered from Italy now, said be delivered this week probably friday.

how long is the card number displayed for ?
 
15 mins or so.
 
Yes about 15mins at a time sound right, then off for 15 and on again.

Not a big problem really.

Yes, seen it working in working in a couple of places, think it was a TM5XXX series, 5400 I suspect the last time, didn't pay too much attention, just shoved the card into it.
 
I wonder if the number will appear in the big game today as I want to see what appears on the screen out of interest.

have the number appeared on all channels including the calcio ones ?
 
They were appearing last night when I watched the re-runs of the Fulham Man City game on SS3.

So it looks like it's on the Prem Matches.
So I would have thought you would have seen them by now?
 
There wasn't any on saturday on the arsenal or wolves - qpr match but I did tune into sky calcio to compare the picture quality with sky sports uk and saw the number in the bottom left corner of the screen.

I wanted to see it to see if it would bother me during a live game.
 
the card number is appearing again on todays game qpr - united and i presume the others to be shown later.

so people with pubs beware, about time the fa had a rethink on the live tv games situation.
