I was using B16MMC's config creator. I got nowhere with it and I have read up on everything I can find. The more I read the more confusing it gets. Is it that difficult? I even go to the point of having to do a re flash of the box with Enigma and Niabliosat because it kept locking up.
Got the number from the box but have read I ned the engineers number, do I?
 
Hi mate, ok, if you've got the 17 digit character from the white sticker on the box then you don't need the number from the engineers menu as they're the same. Put the 17 characters into the boxkey converter and click the button. Now you have your boxkey. Can you give any further detail on the problems you're having using the Config Creator please ?
 
Thanks B16MCC. The card has been in S*y box. Only numbers visible are a set of 10 digits and a set of 12 digits. In CCcam Config. S*y UK, Create Config is CCcam server & client. Put in the 10 digits and it creates a box key. Preview is OK. Create & Save is OK and sends to the DM OK.
In Nabilio Green button, Red button, CCcam Info Setup, Host 127.0.0.1 Web user blank. Web Pasword blank. Web Port 1200. Rest connect but empty. White card is in top slot of DM chip down.
 
ok, for now let's stay away from the CCcam info plugin on the dreambox.
Firsly, after sending the CCcam.cfg to the box, are you sure CCcam is actually running.
Press the blue button to get the Cam selection page. Use the left and right buttons to select the cam and press ok to start it.
When you enter the blue button page you'll see either CCcam or Common Interface selected in the left hand pane at the top. Or maybe some other cam if you have any installed. Make sure it says CCcam and press ok to start it.

Go to your PC , in your web browser enter the IP adress of your Dreambox and denote port 16001 . For example :-
http://192.168.1.5:16001

You should see the CCcam web interface, if you do that proves its running on the Dreambox. Now you can click the entitlements button to see if your card is being read.
Now, if you've used a number from the sticker on the box and its NOT 17 characters, it's pretty certain its going to be wrong.
If you have the old standard sky box , you need to enter the hidden engineers menu by pressing, Services, 4, 0, 1, enter.
Once in this menu you'll find the box serial number in one of the available sub menus. Can't remember what its called. This number will be 9 , 10 or 11 characters. Enter this into the boxkey converter , do not add any zero's. Edit your config with the created boxkey.
You do not need to restart CCcam after changing the config.

So its the card number thats the problem. I will get it later today. Just think, At least a week of frustration sorted in one post. Wish I had asked before as I never knew about the http://192.168.1.5:16001 but try first and ask later. The forum motto.
 
Hi mate, the boxkey is not the cause of that message I'm afraid.
Are you using CCam 2.1.3 or 2.1.4 at least ?

If not, you must use at least 2.1.3
Also try your other card reader. Card should be inserted chip first, and facing downwards.
 
Is this better. Bottom slot reader. Taken out NodeID not sure if its traceable.

Across the top of the page you have several buttons, click the 'Entitlements' button and see if it lists the entitlement dates for the card.
Also has it actually opened an encrypted channel ?

Right mate, you're card entitlements are way out of date as you can see but atleast it being read. I suggest you put your Dreambox on the 'Sly One' channel and leave it. It will be black presumably to start with, if and when it comes alive return to your pc and check the entitlement dates to see if they have updated. Basically if 'Sly One' comes on , you'll find the dates have changed and your hanlded emm count will have incremented. Again I must point out the boxkey issue. The description you gave of how you calculated your boxkey tells me it's definatley wrong. You'll need to access the engineers menu as mentioned and make the boxkey again.
 
Thanks B16MCC. I will have to wait until I can get accross to access the box. Rang my mate but he couldn't be bohered to faff about. Not a nice way to treat a retired plumber, his pipes may freeze up again next winter.

Got the 17 numbers but CCcam 0 9.1 comes up with This box key is to many characters and will not work. Eek....... and I have been waiting 8 weeks.
 
So, had a sort out and ran the Config Creator 0 9.3 from a fresh Vista install. Still get This box key is to many characters and will not work.
Checked the serial number 17 characters but still the same. Time for a strong coffee me thinks.
 
hi mate. Would you be prepared to PM the 17 digit serial please. healeydave had a problem this week using the 17 digit number and with the release of 0.9.3 we fixed his issue. I'm sure we'll get you going if you let me have the number.
 
The mind boggles. Got the box that the card apparently came from. Connected it up and I can get the free channels but it says to press red if I goto Sly 1. In the menu it gives the card number and box number which is 10 digits and says its the wrong card. The box number in the menu is different from the 17 digits on the box base. Left it on Sly 1 for 24 hours and nothing changed. So I put it back in the DM8000 and used Config Creator 0.9.3 with the 17 digits.
This is what I get.

So I'm off this evening to see if this card belongs to his other 2 boxes but I can't see how as they work OK or they sent him a double card.
 
Hi mate. You're not gonna get anywhere with this card until it works in the original sly box it was intended for. You need to work out which box it should be in, this might need a phone call to sly. Once you have it working then move onto the 8000.

From the info above the card has received 5513 ECM requests yet its responded to none of them ! It aint working !
The box serial number in the hidden engineers menu should make up part of the 17 digit code on the sticker.
Get the card in the correct box and if needed get it reinitialised on the phone.
Get some premium content on then we'll tackle the DM8000.
 
Thanks MCC but I somehow don't think I will ever get the card activated. Not sure whether to go for another card or just sell the DM8000 as I will have less time come the spring to play about and stick with my simple TM 6800. I spent a £1000 so I am going to lose a few quid.
 
Once you get a card that updates in your sky box it will update in the DM. You need to get the Boxkey and add it to the CCcam.cfg file. It took me ages to sort my box out and it now updates the card, the epg and Enigma2 automatically. I would stick with it you'll get there in the end and people will usually help.
