Hi guys. Ive found the ITV HD but now looking for channel four hd. Is it being transmitted anywhere unencrypted? Ive looked on kingofsat and it says its encrypted via videoguard. Any one know where i can find all the info required to search for the channel. Im currently using an MVision HD Combo receiver. Good box me thinx. Ta in antish:-slaphead

Many thanks. Sorry to sound vague but does NDS encrypted mean that I wont get to see it? Is it via Astra 2d ?
 
This transponder is on Astra 2A South.
NDS encrypted requires a valid subscription.

Thankyou. Thats a bugger. So much for FREE Sat. I suppose i will have to put up with watching. "ITV HD is currently unavailable" on a black screen)(-red
 
No subscription necessary. Just a one-off payment for a Freesat From Sky card (20 quid).

You'll need a CAM for your receiver to put the card in (Diablo or TRex) and also a Digibox to authorise the card.

many channels are locked into long term encryption contracts so even if they want to go fta they cant without breaking their contract or buying out the agreement.

Remember these channels quite happily signed their contracts for 4 or 5 years long before Freesat was even under development.

There is also the issue of lack of capacity on the Astra 2D spotbeam - she only carries 16 transponders, maost of which are in use by the BBC & ITV.

You'll also need a programmer to load the CAM with the relevant file for reading the card.

Best all-round programmer is the CAS 3+ from Duolabs. Be aware that things start getting expensive if you decide to go this way, but once purchased, you will have access to other FTV channels on Astra 28E; and as you have a motorised dish, several other providers on different satellites that are currently accessible with the right files in your CAM.

Before buying a CAM, It is worth checking that the receiver can't read a Sky FTV card once patched, many receivers do, but I don't know about the Mvision.
