Well this is a bit of a bombshell.

ITV has said it is in "preliminary" discussions to sell its broadcasting business to Sky for £1.6bn, a move that could reshape the UK's television landscape.

The talks focus on ITV's Media and Entertainment division, which includes its free-to-air TV channels as well as the ITV X streaming service.

The discussions with Sky, which is owned by US-based Comcast, come as the television industry faces fierce competition from streaming services such as Netflix and Disney+.

The deal would not include ITV's production arm - ITV Studios

I make this prediction now - if this comes to pass we may as well wave goodby to ITV as we know it.
 
I also predict that

STV shareholders wont want to miss out on the payday & will finally merge with ITV before the Comcast sellout.

most of the fta ITV channels will be closed down & the majority of the service will become subscription channels - probably folded into one of the existing Comcast pay tv services

Really? Comcast are known for their woke shite, anything but "redneck". Doesn't really matter to me as seldom watch terrestrial/live TV and when I do it isn't ITV, BBC or Channel 4, but news and not from them or Sky, oh, and occasionally stream old shed and Buried and Wheeler Dealer episodes. However, a lot of my elderly customers do watch it and will miss terrestrial when it diminishes.
