Fibo 90 feedhorn and fixed Az/El mount

However, I do not understand where people are getting spare parts for Fibo, such as feedhorns and subs...:(
Just recently spotted on another forum how feedhorn was used. Of course it did not work this way. But that user had spare feedhorn. View attachment 65152

That photo looks like someone is gluing a plastic feedhorn over the feedhorn of an Inverto Black Ultra LNB.

I have no idea what they are trying to achieve and I bet they didn't either.

What a waste!

It is look like, but in reality that was part of original Fibo feedhorn just cut away.:-doh

They must be insane to cut up an original Fibo feedhorn!

The boss calls the shots o_O Owner had two fibo feedhorns and only one antenna, so, he experimented that way. That why I was asking where you can get feedhorn or subreflector as they usually go like a set with main mirror. Unless if mirror is damaged and not renovatable.

Picked it up today. A bit scruffy but is structurally sound. Just needs a bit of a clean-up and it should good to go.

Trust - you, Rimant and VS would make a great team!

Well... a little annoyed. Started cleaning the dish when I noticed a few dings. Nothing major - a bit like shopping trolley dings you get on a car - but prompted me to string the dish.

Result: warped :-ohcrap

Managed to get some larger dings out from the other side and straightened the dish. Well, the strings all meet in the middle and the dish lies flat on the floor - how good the result will be remains to be seen.

Got all the stickers off the dish - looks crap. Need to paint it with black paint to return it to its former glory.

The sub-reflector and the feedhorn are perfect with exception of the missing cover - I'll make this myself out of something. Have two Black Ultras lying around - already converted by Trust1 - so these are a perfect fit to the feedhorn :-disco

Mod: can you move this thread somewhere more appropriate, since I am getting a spare bracket for the dish from @gibertini and I'll sort my own feedhorn cover out. Would like to carry this thread for progress though :)

I think we are already great team here, not only 3 but all off us!

@Trust: Looks good. And simple too.

@CJ: If you're going to make the bracket might as well include elevation right away. Bracket would be even simpler than Trust's one.

Yep, the Stab bracket will have elevation guide hole already so will use that - like Trust's first picture.

Not going to bother with that on the 90cm Fibo... At least not this time around. Just plain DiSEqC setup to cover eastern sats.

Even without it it's a great dish. I love mine. Got it on a Clarke-Tech 390.

Sorry to tell , but i did cut the original elevation holes of to make the dish closer to the moteck . I think its possible to use the STAB clamp without any bending by attaching the rectangles between the clamp like i did with the moteck

It's up. A bit messy at the moment and I need to add another K bracket at the top. Roughly aligned - not overly impressed with performance at the moment. Seems to be about the same as my Penta 85 - possibly slightly stronger. But, like I said, it's roughly aligned so will fine tune everything tomorrow.

Tracking between 13E and 68.5E

couldnt you have gone above the eave just in front of the uhf antenna as you could get 13e to 30w or more? aswell

Way too high where it would be seen by everyone... Where it is now, it can only be seen by immediate neighbours.

Besides, I have a good view to the west from my 1.5m dish in the garden.

All done. Added a 2nd K bracket so it's more stable now. Took a while to get it to track the arc properly, without any western satellite references...

Still unsure about the performance - I would have thought it would be equivalent to 1m Channel Master but it's more like my Penta 85 if not worse, judging by a few signal references from when it was set up. I think the dish's damage is evident... those few kinks certainly threw it out of alignment even though it strings OK.

Oh well...
