HDCP on my Sony TV (KDL-40U2000)

Can anyone tell me how I can find out if my Sony TV (KDL-40U2000) has HDCP. There is nothing in the manual and I can't find anything on the Sony site.

I want to connect it to my Sky HD+ box in another room and get an HD signal using one of these new HD transmitter/receivers.

Any other advice would be appreciated.

Hi Alan welcome to the forum

do you mean DHCP? per chance

Your router is what should be handing out DHCP IP addresses or you could manually allocate them in the router, the TV will not hand one out
 
It's a digital copy protection system Topper, Sky HD boxes have it, as do I would guess most HD TVs, what is more important is that the HDMI transmitter has it.

How far away from the HD box is the second TV ?
 
The tv is on the 1st floor and the Sky Box is in the ground floor - about 8-10 metres away.

Advice I have read is that "older" TVs do not have HDCP even if they have an HDMI socket and mine is quite old, so I need to know if it has HDCP, before I fork out around £140 for an HD Transmitter / Receiver.

Any other advice from anyone ??

You really need to bring the two items together and connect them with an HDMI lead and then see if you can watch a movie or sports programme.

And if it works, an HDMI doubler and 10m cable will be cheaper (and more stable) than going down the wireless mode.
