Hi
I have ordered a dm600s pvr from a website that ships worldwide. I have done a "whois" on the website and seems to belong to someone in China.
When I get the box how do I know if its a genuine Dreambox?

cheers

dbase....
Coming from China you can be 99.9% sure it is a clone...how much did you pay for it? that is also a telling factor as clones tend to be quite a bit cheaper than originals...But I wouldn't be unnecessarly worried.I have a clone 800 and it's fine, just be wary of the image you put on it,do a search to ensure you put the right one on..

Usually the clone boxes sticker will have a different MAC address to the one the box is using. That was the case with the last Clone 600 i had :-DOH!

The sticker stated a totally different mac to the one the box was using. This has also been the case with the DM500 i have now which i use for testing :-DOH!

The good thing though is the clone DM600 PVR I had performed better than the original one on fringe satellites. The tuner seemed to be that bit more sensitive than the original unit which cost me another £100 more than the clone :-righton

nanochicken thats what I wanted to hear, especially about the sensitive tuner as I live in the most southern part of Spain and I watch BBC etc

as an update
My box from Hong Kong has a mac address starting with 00:09:34. I took a gamble and flashed it with the latest Gemini image. No problems. No lockouts
