My wife has registered a star in my name!!!!,it is called M95,NGC3351,PGC32007,!!!!!!!!!!!!.I thought M95 was a galaxy? maybe i now have a galaxy in my name?.It says it comes with a gaurentee of 5 billion years!!!!.Haven't had the telescope out yet because it's been too cloudy, but it's just below the constallation of Leo.What do you think people,?class present or what?!!!!!
Regards DaDragon.

Cool. M95 & NGC 3351 & PGC 32007 are the same thing - the galaxy (different nomenclature).

Some info and a pic of the galaxy here:

hxxp://www.ne.jp/asahi/stellar/scenes/object_e/m95m96.htm

How do you claim if the star goes out after only4 billion years :D

i bought a couple of mates a plot on the moon.

be interesting to see if they can claim it if we ever do colonise it.

Analoguesat,
So are you saying the wife bought me a galaxy? If so i think wev'e been duped cos the website told the misses she was buying a star!(he he he).Maybe i could sell each individual star for a quid!!!.Now how many stars to a galaxy?erm-erm,well i think it's about a thousand million+,a nice little earner!!!
PS thanks for the web link.
Regards DaDragon.

It has been reported many times in the media, stars/galaxies/plots on the moon/mars cannot be sold because they do not belong to anyone, the whole thing is a money making scam for somebody.

You're not telling me I don't actually own the moon?

I bought it on eBay from someone with 100% feedback!

Probably a 100% genuine replica moon. Did it have "Made in China" on the dark side?

Can tell it's dark!

I used to moon people from the taxi that took me from pub to pub a while ago. I can make a special full one for Gameboy if needed, complete with craters (Ill get some special closeups) - no oceans though if its not dodgy beer or early evening. :ch1

but it had a piece of lamenated card in the pack saying i offically owned an acre............

does the finders keepers law (or first person there claims it law) not come into practice?
if, of course the USA actually landed....but thats discussed in another thread

I hope your moon carries a Hazchem sign on it's dark side for the sake of public health and safety

Note to A Forester,
I don't care who owns it mate,it's the thought that counts, the wife's heart is in the right place,i'm happy,it makes you think though,if no-body owns the stars or moon etc,etc then if you want to stick your name on it, what's the problem?!!.There could be an alien race on the other side of the galaxy well p*ss*d at Edmund Halley because he stuck his name on a comet, when in fact they saw it first about 1000 years before Halley was born!!!.Life's for living, your a long time dead.Anyway i'm off to the local Chinese restaurant now with my wife and daughter to fill my face and get very tipsy for the new year,i'm over-drawn and i don't care until my next visit to the bank!!!.Happy new year to all who watch satellite telle, man, woman and alien alike.

Just pointed out that which had been mentioned in a few newspapers, that was all.
If you feel chuffed with your wife's pressie, all the best to you. As long as you both got pleasure out of it, and it seems that you did, no harm done.
:) I think that you should ask, for next years pressie, a trip to view your property :) .
It's been a good thread though :ny
