Any idea how i can stop a washing machine causing interference to our sat dish. It gets turned on and causes breakup on Blaze channel.

Where is the downlead cable in relation to the washing machine ?

13ft from the washing machine 14ft with the brick wall in the way its not a laundrette.

Try a different AC phase on the receiver.. Just use an extension cord and try different AC power plugs till you find one that reduces or eliminates the interference.

If this does not work then look for some clip on Ferrite RFI suppression beads...something like these...https://www.amazon.com/iSKUKA-Pack-Ferrite-Beads-Clip/dp/B06XVMGGC4

Get some for the AC cord on the receiver and the washing machine power cord. It's more then likely coming in from the AC power line, there are ways to fix this.

Also is you satellite system grounded ????? If not then try that first, if the coax shield is not properly grounded it can act like a leaky hose and pick up all sorts of junk.

You asked a question, it was a suggestion in case you might wish to watch/record something important.

In the UK, our houses don't have that option as each one only wired with a single phase of the local 3-phase distribution system.

If that is only occurring on a specific channel, then it seems like interference from the machine to the receiver, and that's most likely to be caused by a radiated frequency-specific radiation "spike" from the machine flexible supply cable from the wall socket.

Therefore, if the machine is at all recent (like the last 20+ years!) , then it is probably breaching the radiated interference limits mandated by EU/UK legislation - and thus you should complain to the seller &/or manufacturer that it is not "legal"

OTOH, if all else fails, and from "another direction", pretty much every piece of domestic electronic equipment is, nowadays, not "earthed" via the main plug - thus adding an actual physical cable from the receiver case (assuming it's metal!) to the Earth pin in the mains plug may help to reduce the problems.

OK, no second phase to try.....Then I would try a proper Earth ground (or check the Earth ground)to the satellite system with a ground block and a real ground rod, as the grounds on most electrical system are very noisy.. In most electrical systems you have a ground at the wall outlet, this ground goes all the way back to the AC service panel, they can pick up a ton of junk, this is why I always earth ground an RF system with a true Earth ground.

A good EMI filter can also help.

I think all large white appliances in this part of the world have to be earthed via the plug, though there is a chance a fault has developed in the chassis, or cable.
