Jaeger 1224 restoration

Got to be worth at least a monkey considering it is brand new and boxed old stock.
if only i could have sourced this back in September. The stress of breaking the resto model has aged me

You could have gotten it from Turkey; they still have quite a stock of Jaegers there. I got my 18 inch recently, although the transport cost is a problem.

The actuator.

I sold my 1224 el, new in original packaging, for 300 euros about 2 years ago. And now I regret selling it. I somehow thought at the time that I wouldn't need it.

I am still using a PACE positioner to move my dish.

birds will soon leave their mark on it.
I put those acrylic bird spikes on my dish, as next door has umpteen bird feeders in the garden, they do seem to stop them crapping all over the dish20250428_134814.webp

I'm tucked under a tree so they can bomb it from a height. 1 minute I'm relaxing to the bird song
Next I'm cursing the little b****ds

Reminds me of walking into a big box hardware store "this side of the swamp". Seagulls way up in the air. Hundreds of them. Noticing that most cars parked in the lot had bird poop on them. Then all around me I hear little splat-splat-splats. Got bombed on my shoulders, head, arms.
Jesus!

An a brighter note. If bird crap was an issue on my dish, those little spikeys on top insulated from the dish and wired. Or perhaps 2 or 3 closely spaced wires on insulated stand-offs arced over the top of the dish and a solar fencer would do it. That'd pucker up their bomb bays. And have me eating crow for dinner!
