Torchwood - Miracle Day episode 1 as my neighbours are nut jobs but have a cellar full of beer and can be rather generous at times.

From the storyline, humans can no longer be killed off, and the population is to increase exponentially as a result, destroying the planet.

The factor brought up was that food would run out , but if there is no chance of death, there would be little, or no need of food (or any other embibement).
Same criticism goes for zombies of olde but this series is put on after the watershed, and is apparently a serious show, and not the dark comedy/horror genre.

Then there's the need to ship the 'heroes' out to the US when they might be more useful in their home environment of Wales, but that's for another day.
 
Amazing what rubbish some will watch. Then they wonder why so many men spend so much time on their computer.
 
Yes, the cute welsh bird is still in it Ross, worth watching just for her.:)

I watched it and quite enjoyed it. The fact that people cannot die in the story line, doesn't mean that they can go without food, as bad injuries don't heal, so I guess malnutrition would still cause pain and suffering, but without end.

Nah, not convinced having seen Ep2.

Everyone is running around looking for drugs to help the less afflicted/injured. Like any insect colony the more needy would be farmed off, but with human intervention those in most need in an overpopulated worldwould be put into stasis. The writer(s) just hasn't thought it through.

So what will our 51st century warrior (with knowledge of the past) do about it ?

You have to have a suspension of belief of certains story elemnts in order to enjoy the story as a whole. If you were to say, for instance, immortality can't exist because it would contradict the laws of conservation of energy then you're bound to be disappointed.

Just roll with flow CH!
 
Science Fiction almost always contains something that is beyond the realms of reality, but any entertainment factor can be prematurely sidelined by a script that has major failings in its premise.

Think how the Godzilla franchise might have fared if Barney the Dinosaur was written in as central character.

Parents would be happier after seeing that big purple monstrosity be gunned down, that's for sure... :D

As for Torchwood, I'm surprised they're still going with that, Dr. Who spinoffs never last normally, so they're really stringing this one out... :confused:
 
Maybe not TV programmes, (Sarah Jane Adventures being the exception), but over the years, stage plays, films, annuals and audio books show that Terry Nation's creations can survive outside the Saturday night slot on BBC1.

Early publications can change hands for a small fortune.
