Hi,
My last sky it card (093) worked fine in the DM8000's internal card reader using Oscam/CCcam emus. that card expired 3 months ago. I got my new card yesterday inserted it but it did not clear. Now the only thing that changed (apart from the card) is the image. I updated from GP2 to GP3.
I started reading around for a solution and learned few things..not sure if it is true though..

Scam can be used alone.cant exchange lines. (don't need to).
Oscam can be used alone.
CCcam can be used alone

If you are using DM8000 and the internal reader please list your working setup.
Image/cam type and version/ config files.

Thanks.

Cmon guys..not even one reply?

Don't be so impatient,
I suspect this is the result of what has been rumoured for many months, sky are clamping down on card sharing and using nonproprietry equipment the problem is you have introduced two variables to the equation by changing from GP2 to GP3 and getting a new sky Italy card

For my SkyUK card in my DM8000, I'm using Oscam svn4803 and CCCam213. Working fine with the BH image, downloading the aforementioned EMUs from NAB's server. Try BH instead of Gemini.

Right,
so I replaced GP3 with Dream elite. Installed Oscam + CCcam 2.1.4. Used default config files. Still black screen. only few Channels are clear.(but they were clear with GP3 as well). LA7- MTV- Super tennis. these channels are clear even when I use the expired old card.
Don't know where to go from here.. :(

Have you entered your box id in in oscam.server?

I don't have the sky box so no Box Id. But I read that the newer versions of Oscam work without Box ID.
I read also Oscam can be used alone but couldn't work it out.
The card was activated by the seller before it was sent to me.
This is painful.

Maybe later Oscams don't need the box id, but for sure the version I have needs it to open the only premium channel I have (RUK). Don't need it for other encrypted channels.

I'll post my config files if that helps.

These are the default configuration files that were included with the Oscam I have. Just changed user name and password to USER1 and have removed my box id. And of course my Sky card CAID is for Sky UK. -

Thanks. Could I impose further and ask you please to try to run the oscam script after you block out the Id box line, this is to see if it is crucial with the version you are using.

I tried your config files and the oscam/CCcam build =} black screen.
but then I left out the box id.

Sorry for the delay, didn't have access to the Dreambox. Appears the premium channel (at least the one I have - RUK will open without the box id - I just didn't wait long enough for it to open.

Here's the Oscam logfile without the box id -

Don't think it tells us much though. I'm fairly new with Oscam stuff, perhaps I haven't set the logfile arguments correctly in Oscam.config (have commented out Logfile = stdout to make default /var/log/oscam.log).

I am sorry but I don't quite follow here..are you saying the channel will clear without the box ID line?

Thanks for all your help.

Well it stayed clear when I removed the box id from Oscam.server - until I restarted Oscam

Had to re-enter box id. Seems it's def. needed at least in my snv version. Try a later snv.

True. Oscam is a bin (executable file) and will load the config files upon start up. it will update on restart.
I tried many setups, non worked. the best I got was only few clear channels which I mentioned above.
If you are still adventurous :-togo you could replace your bin file with a newer one. test it to see if it works with the same config files, then take out the Box ID line and see if it works without it. this will give me a good bin file to work with.
But then if you don't want to experiment I truly understand.
Thanks for all your kind help.:-righton

May try another version if I can find an ipk file to upload to the Dreambox. You mentioned you don't have the Sky box now that your card was paired to. No chance of retrieving the box number from whoever owns it now?

Hi just to add my two pence worth, I'm not a Linux user but I have some test findings that might be of help, I got a pre activated 6 month Sky Italia card about six weeks ago. My understanding was this: The NDS main build spec was a version 1 behind us (U.K.) but was different from the old Blue card version one we had. I was also aware that the Italia cards are not paired with the original activating receiver. My plan was to buy a cheap second user/refurbished $ky Italia receiver for keeping the card alive & use my Technomate 6800+ for my general viewing recording etc (Background! Technomate non Linux HD receivers open all the channels on the U.K. Sky cards no prob's but cant process the "Keep alive" signal so need poped back in their original paired receiver once every month). When I got the card I poped it in my Technomate first, no joy!, it recognised the card as being NDS but non of the channels cleared, bummer I thought I'll try it in my Spiderbox, bam all channels cleared no prob's without the need for the additional box key info (I have premium content, Sky Sport 1,2,3 etc).

Llew , Ghostleader, thanks a lot. I got my card from a seller in Italy. I don't have a sky decoder. you are right about the card and box not being paired. I spoke to a friend and he has a sky decoder. I will borrow it from him in few days to check the card. maybe it needs to update or something. at least I will know if it is a card or setup problem. will report back once I figure it out. cheers.

OK cheers, let us know the result. Didn't realise the box and Sky Italy cards are unpaired.
