Thankfully some of us have Fixed Wireless Access Broadband.

Fast (enough), incredibly reliable, and cheap!

No wires, no fibres, no unpleasant bending.
 
OK, since it looks like my plan iisn't going to work without a lot of hassle, would a single ethernet cable in a property allow two different devices to provide their own correctly delivered data, if I installed a five port splitter at each end of the line, or do I need to install something dfferent (a programmable router) at the front end ?
 
I bought several similar devices a few years ago with the aim of splitting the o/p's from the house 1Gb LAN sockets to supply several PC's & so on - but then found that those o/p's only operated at 100 Mb max, and so they now reside in a drawer:rolleyes:.

IIRC, they need to work in pairs - one to split the connection and then another to feed the PC (etc.)
 
Yes, there is only one cable running through the property but I need two independent devices to run down it. I dont think speed above 100Mb is required but you never know.

Yes you are correct one at each end, I first used some in 2006/7, they were however somewhat unreliable to begin with however if speed was not essential they did work. They simply flip flop data from two sources over one cable, then flip flop the data back onto two cables at the other end, I think I chucked some out last year but might have a pair somewhere, I will keep them peeled.
