No signal on some channels with a 4 or 4+1

Hi, in the last couple of months I have started using a Freesat box, I am hoping for advice on channels that state "no signal " with a yellow coloured triangle with an exclamation mark in it. I have a Manhattan box, and the following channels always seem to have no signal Channel 4+1, E4 +1, More4, E4 EXTRA.
I have noted advice online on some google webpages, stating to put the box into standby for 30 seconds and start up again, if no change do a channel retune, which I have done now on a few occasions to no effect.
Any advice or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated

What frequency are you using ?

Check the Flysat site to make sure all the parameters are correct

Be aware several of the C4 family of channels are likely to close off satelite in the next year or so - C4 has to make some big financial cuts in the near future.

Hi, how do I find out what frequency I`m using, sorry if this is a basic question, but I`m not clued up with these types of things. As well as the previous mentioned no signal channels I noticed Film 4 +1 has the same no signal. All the other channels seem to work fine.
I went into Settings on the remote menu and then Tuning / Tune Manual Channels. All channels not just the no signal ones have no information it shows :-
Strength 0%
Quality 0%
Frequency ( MHz) - (blank)
Symbol Rate - ( blank)
LNB Polarization : Vertical

Not sure if that is any help, but I would have thought at the least some information would be noted in Tuning?

Please post more details, of your setup, receiver make/model, satellite dish, size, general location, e.g. North East UK.

10936 V 22000 DVB-S is the tp for those channels.

Receiver is a Manhattan SX Satellite TV Box connected to a SKY Satellite Dish as I was a previous SKY customer a good few years back, Manhattan TV box is connected via an HDMI cable to TV. Satellite Dish is oval shaped and approx 60cm to 65 cm across, it appears to be the standard size for SKY installations. I am just a few miles North of Glasgow so Central Scotland.

Thank you manic01, that seems to have worked, all of the no signal channels are now there. I did find the 10936 frequency earlier on Google but did not know much else or what to do next, especially about the symbol rate 22000 you provided.
Thanks again and to the other posters who tried to advise and help. This was much appreciated

There are many satellite sites, like lyngsat, flysat, kingofsat, that can provide all details, of transponders, and any updates, channels closing, or moving frequency.

I noticed that Talking Pictures, and a few other channels, had changed, after I got the no signal message, but as I very rarely view anything on 28.2E, I don't know when they changed transponder.

I spoke too soon folks, I came in tonight and the same channels are back to no signal again. I tried imputing the info from manic01 again but the box only allows me to input the frequency and the symbol rate but not letting me past LNB polarization to the scan button. Any idea why the channels have gone again.

Please try to post your signal quality levels, either your dish has moved, or your LNB might be failing, depending on any differences between horizontal, and Vertical, quality levels, or the problem lies with your receiver.

An easy way, to check where the problem lies, is to try your receiver on someone elses dish, friends, neighbour, or relatives.

Signal Strength 83%, Signal Quality 60%, is there any way to improve these percentages? I still have the old Sky TV box, if I can get the no signal channels to work through it then would I be right in assuming the dish and LNB have not moved or failed/ failing.
I got the Manhattan box in January when all the BBC channels changed to HD which the Sky box is not. Surely it is strange the channels were there this morning after the changes were made but no signal again tonight, that`s what I cannot understand

You need to post the signal quality on different transponders, especially Horizontal compared to vertical.
Signal Quality is the most important figure.
You can lose signal quality at different times of the day, through rain, cloud cover, etc..

Sorry, I don't know anything about transponders or what that actually means. I obviously take it the 60% signal quality was not what you needed to know. If you could advise in basic terms I will do my best to get you the information you need. So much for the advertising from Manhattan just input your postcode and its plug and play

A transponder contains a number of channels, e.g. 10936 is a transponder, containing a number of channels.
60% signal quality is what I need, it's a little low, but adequate, but this quality reading might alter on different transponders, and polarities, Horizontal, and Vertical.

Your receiver seems limited, in functionality, based on the limited information in the online manual.

Can you try your receiver, on a different dish, friends, neighbours or relatives?

Unfortunately no relatives or friends anywhere near me, neighbours are all on Virgin Media as I was until recently, sorry not much help there. Regarding the old SKY box I have, if the no signal channels work on it does that give you any clues to eliminate any possible issues with the dish or LNB.

There's usually an engineers/technicians menu, on these type of receivers, that requires a specific code, from your remote control, to enter.

Is there any option to upgrade your receivers software, in the manual?

Having looked through both books supplied there is no technicians/ engineers menu or mention of a code to change settings via the remote control. 1 book is a basic users guide and the other details the specifics for the box ie Hardware Specs/ power supply details, warranty and Do`s & Don`ts. I checked for any software updates tonight and none were available. I have checked every system setting on the box but no option to input any code. Sorry I can`t provide the details you are looking for, the literature supplied is very basic

When looking at this film
I would guess that you can only use the scan button, when there is enough signal quality.
But I might be wrong, of course.

So that would mean there might indeed be a signal quality issue?

Just a guess, though; I don't know the manhattan box or sky or the like...
