u can"t do direct from uk;u must be resident in france or have an adress in; then purchase a kit decoder card +dish.everymonth csat pick money subscription from ur account;the acount must be in euro and in france;
good idea is to have friend in france; he can got it for you easely.

You can get one of the TNTSat variants for a one off payment from a hypermarket (or from Fleabay). Search the forum for TNTsat.

Hi
As Pgh13 has mentioned you can get from Fleabay - but the prices ive seen are £200 which is far too expensive - true by UK standards receivers are expensive and will cost you Approx 100 euros from the hypermarket/DIY Leroy Mervin /Darty - just out the chunnel in France . I reckon with the newspaper deals you could get over their for the day practice your French and pick up a receiver cheaper all cheaper than E-Bay and have a day out! ! Receiver comes with card (TNTsat or Fransat) and its plug and play -card is supposed to last a 'lifetime' but who knows. You dont need a French address/or bank account the stores listed will gladly sell one to you just pick up and go to the checkout. The receivers can be used for free to air reception on any satellite but you will need a Fransat Receiver with card for Fransat and TNTSat for TNT. Ive bought one of each over the years both still working (with same channels at 19 east and 5 west)

Thanks everyone for replying, I only just remembered I posted this! I followed your advice and bought fransat, and I am loving it! :)

Yes, the place I bought my fransat from, tps.uk.com, used to offer canalsat, there is still a link if you google it but they have removed the link on their website, but I think they may offer it to you if you ring up and ask :)

I bought Fransat on fleabay, in the form of a second hand Aston Diva HD with card, from a seller in Belgium. It worked great for 6 months until the power supply gave up. This is apparently not an uncommon problem with this particular box, so perhaps one to avoid.. I contacted the Aston service department, who would repair the receiver as long as I gave a return address in France ( not a problem in my case ) I never got round to it, partly due to the realisation that a lot of Fransat's offering could be found elsewhere in the clear, especially TF1, M6, both in SD and HD on 9ºEast along with W9 in SD only. If you like both music and French, I can recommend their early morning offering of music videos, all with subtitles.

The Cristor Atlas range of receivers can open Fransat cards once they have been patched with the firmware supplied by the Kyng team. It also opens up some of the more interesting things that this receiver is capable of :D
