Hello

My receiver is an Octagon SX88. The OK button on its remote has come out. I put it back in the same place and put the top on. It is working but not like before. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do now?

I suggest you look for a replacement for your remote on eBay. I found one recently for mine which works well.

Hi
Isn't there something that won't damage the remote and the OK button will stick to the remote?

I advise customers to wrap new remotes in clingfilm and replace after each spillage or when the battery needs replacing.

Hello
I don't understand why Octagon is making such poor quality remotes.

I have three Octagons (1 x 4008, 2 x 8008), all remote controls have no issues

Hi
The problem with you is not because you will be using all three. If you use only one remote, the OK button on your remote may be damaged because Octagon remotes are not durable and the OK button is the most used button.

The 4008 remote has different function codes to the 8008, however they look the same.

Post a picture of your controller since it might be a completely different design

Yes, a completely different type.

I would suspect it is sourced in from Taiwan by the company manufacturing the receiver on behalf of Octagon.

Somewhere on this site there is a database which shows different branded equiment grouped together by design, I don't know how recent the last update was.

Hi
If this is true, the Octagon company is discrediting itself.

I'm not sure how, I can't recall the last time a receiver was manufactured in Europe/Germany

In the UK it would have been in the mid 1990s

Start here for similar/clone receivers, Denys is mentioned.

I can't see a picture of the original SX88 remote from the time.

Referring to the durability of the Octagon SX88, SF8008 RCU's which includes the Uclan Ustym-4k-Pro-Twin-s2x (receiver hardware components and assembly from the same Chinese facilty as the Octagon)...... all are used nearly daily and to date, pleased to say, operate without problems.

For me, all cracking receivers for the money! :-applause

Which mimics to an extent the remor=te controls here

The O/Ps has additional links to Kodi/Netfix/webtv/youtube . Are those part of official Octagon remote design ?

This kind of problem is very random.

I had a crap motherboard but I have bought one years later from the same manufacturer.

Its not the company its just random chance.

You mean we are forced to do this because we don't see any other factories?
