We have to be clear, SAORVIEW is a Digital Terrestial Television(DTT) and SAORSAT is the satellite version from 9%EAST.

Great result ............... but it's all getting a bit ominous when we need BIG dishes just to get telly intended for a close neighbour.

Lends a whole new meaning to the word "fringe"!

Not a bad quality level... wonder if you could get away with a smaller dish.

I did try on my 1.2m dish however i only got 20% signal, with my 2.4m the max signal i can get is 60%.

Impressive, but it doesn't look like the most efficient way to set up an LNB. :D I wonder if a decent LNB plus a well aligned feedhorn would give similar results on a slightly smaller dish?

That`s true however i am not going to spend £2,500 on a Norsat ka lnb with feedhorn.

Ah, go on!

Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on ................................ go on, go on, go on

What is the system (LNB/dish) they are using in Ireland for Saorsat? Currently, is it commercially available?

The only reasonably priced ka lnbs available are from, the USA my lnb came from Texas.

Been notified that they will be available soon from my wholesaler, but he doesn't know date or price yet.:)

I was outside most of this yesterday afternoon tweaking the lnb,i have managed to get 15% more signal.

Hi folks, just to let you all know, there has been little or no mention of saorsat on any of the 4 main Irish analogue channels. You see the odd ad for saorview. Now RTÉ1 +1 has been launced on saorview. RTÉ are providing full hd coverage for GAA games as well on RTÉ 2 (Saorview only!).

Hi guys Do you think that J will be able to get Saorsat channels on 3m Satelite Dish in London ?

Very very unlikely - you need a 2.4m dish in Swansea. :D

Have you got anywhere to put a 3m dish? You do realise just how big one of those babies is dont you??

yes J know...He gets very good signal Swansea 75% and 92% so J think 1.6 dish will be enough in Swansea

Well, very few of us think that 3m will do it in London but if you go ahead we'd be delighted to be proved wrong!
