Restoration Jaeger SMR 1224 Rotor
While waiting for finding a spare worm gear , decided to give it a try to repair the broken worm .

Drilled at a lathe 7 mm holes in both ends

Made a 7 mm shaft from a steel bolt .

Put en pressed the parts inline together with Loctite .

And here the result , just have to polish the cracked location .

... where's there's a will-there's a way
 
@Trust1 - Would have thought that it might have been useful to leave the bolt in place with Loctite on that, or did you actually do that?
 
For sure I did , if I wanted just to glue it , there was no need for drilling
