Won't be home till Sunday (visiting friends in the Big Smoke) but very much looking forward to gaining a few more channels on this satellite :)

$19 for the cam & $80 for the subscription?

That about £65 - not bad when Sky can easily cost more than that for a month.

Yes plus I paid $70 for delivery from Georgia. Btw, this is not a full package. It doesn't include Silk channels, which are separate and no prices have been announced for those yet.

Wonder how many they will sell to hobbyists in western Europe? :D

I live in fear that they'll switch to Central Asia beam.... Plus my 90cm Fibo is not big enough for this TP in bad weather.

Actually, I am not. Unless they do something about the quality of their broadcasts, I'd say don't bother with it. The quality is awful...it's worse than what you'd get on Albanian channels on 16e. None of the HD channels are HD, even those that transmit in proper HD elsewhere. For example, Eurosport HD is upscaled from an SD transmission and the reencoding process is bad. Constant compression blocks, smeared images and not even a fluid motion... Impossible to watch.

Very disappointed :(

Switched on Silk channels today and SD ones are of much better quality than those from the basic package. HD ones are still rather poor but at least the motion is smooth. Silk Sport 1 HD is showing some EPL(?) game.

hi I'd like to buy a skycaucasus cam how can I do?
the company had not reply to my e-mail...thank you very much

Yes, you also need a subscription from the same site.

BTW, I used a personal contact to purchase both, so I have no experience with the site...

can I have that contact please
thank you in advance

He only speaks Georgian and broken Russian, so even I struggled communicating with him. I would rather use the link I gave you several posts up.

You need to be a Georgian citizen to get subscription or know someone there to get it. There's a site where you can buy it from for $80 per year further up in this thread.

Last I looked, the picture quality was awful. Haven't looked since then though. I'd say MagtiSat is a better bet on 31.5e, if you can receive it.

Fresh out of friends with Georgian citizenship :D And never seen anything off 31.5E :(
