is it possible to buy a one in and two out splitter with a on and off switch on the outlet side

Splitter for what?
When for the antenna signal, it is usually called "manual A/B switch".

I don't know why all the hits are for delivery from the USA. I can't believe that there are no companies in Europe that can supply these. There must be some other description that is in common use that I don't know.

They make an A/B switch for TV and cable signals, but I would not use one on a satellite system, if there is a receiver or dual LNB Diseqc switch in the satellite system then there is a good chance that it may damage this switch.

So is this for an off air TV signal or a cable signal?

I use two of these (one for each motorized dish):

The A position goes into the TBS-6903, the B position goes to an RF patch panel, where I can connect the respective port to a satellite receiver or, more common, to a satellite field meter.

The advantage of these A/B switches is that you prevent shorting the pin with the ground - who hasn't seen those tiny sparks?

The problem with these shorts is that some tuner cards are quite sensitive and I have blown a tuner in the past.

Still, I avoid switching this with any application running, to make sure that the pin is not powered - not sure if it really is switched off when nothing is running, though. But since I use these switches, I never killed a tuner again.

The other A/B switch is connected to the TBS-6903X.

I don't remember where I bought them.

That's a good point. You need to make sure that the switch is what is known as a Break before Make type.
 
I've used these without issue on various configurations of fixed and motorised systems for many years, without any problems whatsoever. Virtually lossless and presenting no issues whatsoever for receivers, DiSEqC switches etc. even with power applied throughout. They are robust break-before-make devices, operated with a satisfying "clunk", and provide a high degree of isolation between Ports.
 
Not usre if you can still get Smart Priority switches, but they were ideal for a two reciver setup where only one was used at a time. Smart Priority Switch SPS1 Switching the new reciver on will automatically switch over, similarly, to switch back, switch on the other receiver.

Some A/B switches are better than others, in terms of positive contact once pressed (for DC throughput), isolation and shielding.

I created a thread somewhere on the switch internals I have here for distributing HF / VHF around the house

Can I have a couple of these? Will be useful to switch between all the receivers and dishes here.
