I caught the end 20 minutes last week, and started watching todays thinking 'Len Deighton, he of Ipcress and Bomber, must be good'.

I haven't read this book but was it really this tired or is it the way it has been 'adapted' for TV ?

I haven't seen James Cosmo for years, and I can't recall him being in a bad film (apart from Troy, but that isn't his fault ;) ), but here he is completely wasted.

Haven't seen this week's episode, but so far the Yankee journalist girl seems to be acting in another series altogether, and seems to be in bed most of the time.
I agree James Cosmo deserves better roles. Last time I saw him was years ago in some series centred on a North Sea rig I think.

Last part is next week, but nothing has actually happened in the 55 minutes I've seen.

The BBC are already offering 'pre-ordering' of the DVD. Er, no.

We watched the first episode and didn't bother after that as we found Sam Riley's dialogue to be too hard to hear and interpret..

Ditto with us. Was obliged to watch a recording of the previous hour's Top Gear, which is fairly carp itself.
