Technomate TM-NANO-OE DVB-S2 HD Linux Satellite Receiver

You simply put the image on a USB stick, plug it in. Turn off and on the box at the back/mains and you'll be asked whether you want to upgrade the software. Press Ch- button on the front and that's it.
Thanks captain I have read all that, I was just asking is it still possible to ftp firmware, not that I want to as it took me days last time :-lol

I have flashed using ftp ? I think it was before, is this possible with this box please, I know it took me a while to do it at the time but I got there in the end:), but I will be taking the easy route even if it is possible for the time being.
You need to be up and running the first time with a USB flash. Once you have ViX loaded you could flash future images by USB, FTP, online download, or online update from the remote or via telnet.
Press Ch- button on the front and that's it.
That's on the Uno/Ultimo. On the TM you press the OK button.

Anyway all this is starting to sound complicated, whereas the truth is it couldn't be simpler.

I got the vix loaded today, it appears to be working fine, I had read reports about webif not working very well but not had any problems, its streaming over wifi and working very well,

Very pleased at the moment, iv'e got a few alterations to do, at the moment I have a tm 3000d moving the vbox/dish and I am using the skybox for scanning,

The nano will be in place of the tm 3000d and the skybox will be left for scanning, that way if I come across a 4.2.2 feed I can just stream it to my laptop from nano to check the feed,

Well follow my advice above about the USB stick, especially while there is no hard disc fitted as you don't want the EPG writing to the internal flash (as AS found out with the Duo).

:D

The start of the love hate affair with the Duo

To be honest I will not be recording much, my setup is mainly used for feed hunting and fringe, I might watch footy and boxing now and then, I have 2 TV's in my living room and my main viewing is on the wifes tv and I can record on sky box or the sky go app,

But it will come in handy at time's :)

That was due to previous drivers, nothing to do with the image. Whatever image you used from that era would have been using the same drivers. Latest drivers are pretty complete now and support USB tuners.

Martin,

menu -> setup -> system -> EPG -> ->settings -> EPG location.

Set to /media/hdd

Question, what setting should I be looking for to put a $ sign on the paid channels please, all channels fta and paid are scanning in the same with no $.

Doesn't work like that. Encryption type shows on second info bar. Obviously once you make channel lists (bouquets) you would only add channels you can access.

Thanks again Huevos, its only a hobby box and will be having no bouquets in it, i will just have to scan in fta only and manually input $bi** channels of my choice,

Can anyone give some screenshots of the menu's please ? There are so many technomate's now it's quite mind blowing !

The Only difference between the TM and the VU is probably Blackhole support and a few other teams, The actual hardware inside the TM Nano OE is the same as the Vu Duo.

Coming from a Closed source STB can be a little frustrating at first but Enigma2 and its images can do far more than there closed source counterparts, currently i see that the TM have support from there own team Image or so called 4D/Openpli, OpenVix, Persian Empire and maybe a couple of others.

Martin its always wise to keep a Closed source STB for ease of use and an Enigma2 for tinkering, Personally though i have yet to see an E2 receiver match a closed source for tuner sensitvity and Blindscan on occasions.

Keep Both types and use the E2 for watching TV :-)

I have used Linux before in the past its only frustrating because the FW needs some work on it, I will try a different image and see how it goes.

Not all images are perfect and i have only ever owned one Enigma2 Technomate receiver and that was the TM-Twin which i used the 4D/OpenPLI image on and never had a problem although at the time that was the only image available for it and now we have a choice
