The Spitzer telescope provided much of the data from direct observation once its main mission had ended, it is due to be turned off at the end of the month.
 
I can't help but think that it's a trap.......

With a name like Trappist the intrepid explorers should at least be guaranteed a fine pint when they get there :D

The fastest space craft we have is Voyager 1, it's going around 1/17,000 the speed of light, so in 700,000 years we could make it,(one way) now for a round trip WOW........ we need the blink drive.

And yes, when we discovered yeast, beer was not too far behind.
 
I think you will find yeast created cider, beer, mead, wine and everything in between a long time before man, such is it's intelligence.
 
More than likely these planets are already occupied & will tell us to Naff off or even worse :eek:
 
A good Belgian friend of mine lives in Hamont-Achel, home to a Trappist monastery. They brew some great beers, but limit the amount each year to pay for the running costs. Every time he visits he always brings me 6 bottles. Two years ago he gave me a glass to drink it from.

Yes four of us went to Belgium last October and enjoyed some amazing beers at the Half Moon Brewery in Brugge such as Brugse Zot

The brewery became so popular in the 60's and production increased so much that the continuous stream of delivery wagons almost forced the closure of the brewery that is in the heart of the centre of Brugge, to overcome this though they maintained the brewing on the city centre site which is also now a museum and once brewed in the new stainless steel vats, the beer is pumped underground for over 1 Km to the bottling, kegging and distribution plant outside the old city.

Brugge is a wonderful place and there are also many fantastic pubs hidden away in the city, down narrow ginnels and up rickety flights of stairs, we tried a number of the hundreds of beers available one of which was from a trappist monk brewery, probably the one in Achel.

A few snaps of the beers and museum plus the new vats etc.

Nothing wrong with going off topic, with even one in a (UK) billion Class M planets around the current estimated stars there are bound to be a few decent beers floating around. A pity this world has so many crap ones.

We are nothing more than a grain of sand in universe of oceans searching for a decent pint.
 
Certainly more difficult since the majority of the universe went metric.
