Over the last months I have been developing a set of Windows-based broadcast tools under the VMA Broadcast name. The idea is to cover the complete chain from content preparation and transport-stream generation to IPTV distribution, monitoring and analysis.

I won't describe the already known VMA Video Analyser Package.
VMA Playout Package
The main application is VMA MUX, which creates and outputs a Transport Stream containing up to 8 services. Each service is assigned to a folder containing video files. A special setting allows one service to receive live content, for example from OBS Studio.
The video files can be automatically converted to the required format by VMA Normaliser.
VMA EPG Content Generator searches the video filename in TMDB and extracts title and description information, which is then used to generate EPG data.
VMA Teletext Generator creates Teletext pages, including automatic pages for news feeds and weather, plus static pages that can be edited with the included editor. The pages are stored in standard .TTI format, so third-party editors can also be used.
The final Transport Stream is output via UDP, either unicast or multicast.
VMA IPTV Package
The VMA IPTV Server receives one or more Transport Streams over UDP and creates an IPTV bouquet from the detected services. The services can then be delivered via UDP, RTP or HTTP.
HTTP is usually the easiest option for normal networks, because only the selected service is streamed to each client.
In my current tests, a normal PC can handle around 50 clients accessing a bouquet of around 50–60 TV services. The system can be fed by tools such as VMA Monitor connected to a TBS 6508 octa-tuner, or directly by VMA MUX. Teletext is preserved. This allows me to run a complete bouquet to several clients, including via VPN tunnel - it works great and I can watch my home TV channels from anywhere in the world.
VMA IPTV Analyser can analyse the IPTV streams, extract service lists, show bitrates, detect errors, display video format and resolution, and perform stress tests, for example by connecting to all HTTP services to simulate many clients watching different channels.
