VMA StreamReader CLI

@vma
Thank you for your quick reply.

I have installed the latest version of python (3.14.3) on my Windows but am getting an issue with installing the two libraries. I opened the python terminal window and copied/pasted the install code you gave above for the libraries but the install did not proceed, it generated a syntax error message.

Would you please be able to assist me in resolving this error? Screen shot of error message is copied below.

My thoughts about this being a long journey look to be accurate !
I downloaded and installed the Visual C++ 2015-2025 distribution package but still get the missing dll error message.

Screenshot showing the distribution package installed is copied below.

OK, I resolved the library installation issue and now have both numpy and matplotlib installed.
Only the missing dll file to resolve before I can move on to testing the CLI app.

To anyone following in my path it is the windows cmd app I used to install the libraries, not the python window. It is probably obvious to a coder but to a non coder it might not be so obvious.

OK, I resolved the missing dll file, it required the 32 bit version to be installed before the CLI app would do anything.

I have the CLI app able to list the tuners but when I try to run a test RF scan using an example I get a scan failed message. I tried it with both Tuner 0 and Tuner 1 which are the two inputs on my TBS6903x card but it failed both times.

I think I am missing something obvious here ?

RFScan() is not supported on TBS 6903x.
Issue a GetCaps() to see what the tuner supports.
Also, it is worth reading the steamreader.h.
Have fun!

OK, I have given up on this topic. I am moving over to the other forum where there is a more active topic on this app.

I am not at home and away from computer.
The easiest is to try the latest Python script inside the last published version.

But, yes, the other forum is more active and the VMA StreamReader CLI is without doubt a hardcore DX/broadcast engineer tool, that requires some time to learn and use.

With VMA Ultimate Stream Reader CLI, we can access and work on satellite, cable, and terrestrial standards. Having blindscan, spectrum, analysis, constellation, and stream implemented, this latest version offers us what Crazyscan app does but with a different interface and way of working with the app.

That is why, as @vma, the developer of this app, said, it is a wonderful tribute to CrazyCat69, who provided us with so much DVB software and utilities and helped with useful advice to all those who asked him and needed help.
Using this DVB software is like respecting and keeping alive the memory of the person who brought us a little/a lot of happiness in our lives as reception enthusiasts.

Of course, we must not forget VMA's merit and contribution to maintaining this memory, but also for diversifying and making his DVB applications available to us for free so that we can continue to cultivate our hobby. Thanks :Y

With the latest VMA StreamReader CLI 20260319, DAB+ streams can be played without any issues.
I tested DAB+ Metropolitan 1 stream at 5.0W and DAB+ WDR stream at 19.2E.

You should always check the Download page at VMA-Broadcast (Download – VMA Broadcast), as I update the software versions frequently. The links posted in the forum will expire when I upload a new version. I cannot provide all previous versions due to limited server space.

Sure, I fully understand you, but then you should never link to a certain file ...

I understand the remark, but I do not agree that direct links should never be posted.

This thread exists precisely to provide quick access to the current build. In that context, direct links are intentional and useful. Sending users only to the general download page is often less practical, because they then have to search through multiple downloads to find the correct release.

In this case, the issue was simply that the thread had not yet been updated with the latest version, due to lack of feedback, so the older link was no longer valid. In such a case, my guess is that people will search the Download page themselves and perhaps post the latest link for others to see.

I will therefore continue to use this thread to post direct links to the current version when appropriate.
