Is there any member with experience on satlink ws6916 satellite meter firmware upgrade or even loading satellite file. i have bought this meter and now running around crazy because it came with European firmware with European satellites with no support from manufacturer. I'm in US and need US firmware or at minimum US satellites loaded in the meter. At this point i can add (or change existing) satellite manually and it locks the signal but this not what i paid for. meter came with USB port. i can connect USB stick and it reads it but don't show me the files on it. i need some information in terms of correct file extensions. what should be correct files extension for satellite file. what should be correct file extension for software upgrade file... are these .bin files OR .upd OR .ddb...?, i have UartTool as well as Update Tool but i don't thing i need these tools that requires serial connection to PC. i should be able to upload satellite file using USB stick via USB port on meter. i do have questions on serial connection to upgrade software but that is later. right now i just need US satellite file upload. i have found this file on this form and meter won't read that file either on USB stick. if anyone has any experience please reply. i have spent almost three days trying to figure this out and not successful. I really need some help here. sent so many emails to sat-link.com.au but no reply yet. Please help.
 
sine nobody has replied for last 4 days. i'll make my requirements more simple. all i want is to delete all satellites in this meter. i'll add Galaxy19 with couple of transponders manually. This will do the job. i'm working on this poject for which i bought this meter which requires me to work on Galaxy 19 on 2 particular transponders. i can add satellite manually (on meter) but other 100 european satellites just bothering me. If someone can guide me on how to delete satellites in this meter would be really appreciated. thank you.

Please provide conformation from your side that you asked for assistance four days ago.
 
My mistake, 3 days. Oct 17 is when I joined this forum and posted for assistance.

I just see my original post and It says 'yesterday' instead of Oct 17. I don't know how posting date works on this forum. I have welcome email dated Oct 17.
 
Well, the manual has items 'edit sat' and 'add sat' (page #13 in the version I've seen).
Have you tried what is written there?

Edit: what have you tried, the last few days? And what have you found aleady, on the internet?

I can edit existing satellites and add new one but trying to get rid of existing European satellites that are no use for me. Two things I'm trying to achieve. 1) delete all satellites so I can add the one I need manually. 2) add us satellite file.

Some 20 minutes of googling and searching got me this, mentioning an American database for WS6916:
Satellite list Database for SATLINK WS6916 - BOX Forum
(On that forum there is more on some satlink models!)

And somewhen in those 20 minutes, I also read that you can UN-check some satellites in a certain satellitemenu, so that you don't see them anymore in your day to day menus. Did you try that?

BTW I have NONE experience with satfinders such as those; I only use simple sat-beepers... :)

Yes, I have seen and tried that American satellite file. It didn't work. I downloaded the file. Unzipped it and copy what was inside the zip to USB stick. Turn on the meter. Connect the USB stick to meter. Went to menu, settings and update. Meter read the USB but don't show me the file I saved on it.
 
And the check/uncheck thing?

Did you ever get the US Satellite db to load? I just bought this meter and am having the same problem. If you go into the menu>system setting>upgrade and hit ok, it will show the files on the USB stick (/udska1) and it shows loading. Hit OK button again and it should show 3 files, the last of which is (America) Satellite list Database for SATLINK WS 6916.bin. Highlight that file and hit the OK button once more and it will read the data erase the flash update the flash and then restart. I have tried this and after restart it shows the same country list. I am thinking that this meter is a POS.
 
Im going to buy a satlink in eBay these are the pictures. model ws6916
Is original or exist china copies?
I saw on the official satlink web that the model 6975 is exactly like the picture with dtt.

which is the last firm available for this device? i dont know if upgrade or not
 
Somebody has this finder? i already have and i would like to upgrade to the last firmware.

try this

After power on, press ok into the main menu then start to set below functions:
For OSD Language/Channel Name/Band Width/ Carrier/ Modulate/FEC/Guard Interval/Output Level/Signal Source functions setting: You can press◀▶to change or select them.
For Frequency setting: You can press◀▶ move cursor and press ▲▼ key to change numbers.
For Service Provider/ Program Name setting: just input the name is ok.
For Factory Setting: press OK to confirm.
