Ax 4kbox hd61 tuner sat uhd

hello I've bought this new receiver because of the 2 CI slot + 1 card reader and I want to share some test I've made hope it can be appreciated:

1) It recognize a viaccess cam to watch rtv slovenia that doesn't work on other receiver also if the cam is pretty old. it does not need to assign anything on the menu as for other receivers. next test is to use 2 cam simultaneously. I hope I will check tonight with a CI+ cam.


2)4k channels works normally


3)multistream channels works normally


4)blind scan. in this test you can find turksat bs of FTA tp. since it does not find (for example) 12015 H trasponder I think I will not use this feature, that I suppose could be inaccurate. that tp can be scanned manually anyway.


5) the only thing for the moment I'm really dissapointed: tuner sensitivity (the feature I need the most). in these photo you can see very hard to catch FOX TV tp on turksat on AX HD 61 and on OCTAGON SX88+ (pretty good tuner sensitivity but inferior compared to other receivers). SX88+ gives at least a glitched video when ax hd 61 just glitched audio and no video. I will make other comparison about it as soon as I can

6) "rallenty" movement when you change channels but I thing it's a hisilicon feature

7) fastest boot I ever seen

8) from first test on astra 4,8 east zeonbud tp, t2-mi can not be scanned automatically

9) the receiver can scan symbol rate <1000 as you can see here (but if you try to scan symbol rate <200 it shows signal but it does not scan)


10) I can confirm 2 common interface can works simultaneously (other receivers can't). 1 Common interface + 1 CI+ was recognized automatically without any user operation

11) as it happens on other receivers hispasat 11496 H 7884 multistream tp have freeze (but it works normally on octagon sx88+)

4Himj, have you made further comparisons between the sx88 and the ax61 on their sat tuner sensitivity since? In my experience one receiver can give glitch video while the other only gives a glitch audio without video but the pictures will be stable same time on both with little signal increase. Also have you or anyone come across any receiver with a more sensitive satellite tuner than these two?

in general Sillabs axhd 61 tuner (the same of various other enigma2 receiver) is better than the one on Octagon Sx88+ but sometimes this receiver gives image when axhd 61 fails.

HD61, as HD51, as Axas, in general - with the exception of SF8008 - all use the same generic Silabs gfutures driver which did enable blindscan but is highly problematic on both very low SR (nothing comes below 250) and constellation detection (all constellations found are mapped to QPSK Auto and 16APSK is found in blindscan but impossible to scan directly).
Just compare Mars Radio with SR185 on 30W. Only SF8008 which uses a more updated Silabs driver can lock this, and blindscan works correctly. All other Silabs receivers have great problems. Since the support on all other STBs is dead, we can expect no better...

Thank you for your response, I ordered two receivers. The Octagon sf8008 and the AX HD 60. I was thinking the AX 61 and AX 60 had the same tuners. I am right in my thinking or the AX 60 is a bad purchase?

tuner on ax's are the same but please make comparation on fringe signals between 8008 and ax hd 60 anyway

I will compare and also against my tm 5402 hd m3. The two boxes will be my first Enigma 2 boxes. Will I need to connect to a PC before scanning. Hope i can just plug and scan channels. How do I access cccam and oscam on both boxes. Any software or procedure?

Yes, I did. The tuner sensitivity is same for the two boxes, but act differently on weak signals. On very weak signals, the sf800 will scratch but watchable. The ax60 on the other hand will not scratch but jump or skip the scratches. Starsat 200 hd tuner matches that of the two.

Do you mean SF8008? If so, it is surely a very good receiver.
If you buy one, I suggest you to choose the old version, not the SF8008 Supreme which seems having a less sensitive tuner.

Si tengo la version SF8008 y un Edision pero el Octagon tiene mejor tunner, el Edision no se queda atras por mucho es una buena caja, pero lo que busco una que tengo el mejor blindscan, tambien lei sobre el SUPREME, este creo viene siendo por la baja sensibilidad parecido al Edision.

I have commented in other threads and forums that the 'SUPREME' is a non contender re: tuner sensitivity or blindscan output accuracy. You will not be dissappointed with either the Octagon SF8008 or the Uclan Ustym 4k Pro . Good luck.
