That was a complete farce. F1 has been a joke since Liberty took over - its being turned into an entertainment show. :( It should have been red flagged as soon as Latifi crashed then a standing start dash to the line - best driver wins.
 
Cogratulations to @ozumo wiping the floor with us in his rookie season. (Next season all your car choices have to be Haas :-rofl2 )

Grasping at straws there - they know they have screwed things up badly, and tarnished F1's reputation probably for years.

Whatever the rights & wrongs of how it was handled, (and Im sure we all have our own feelings about the matter) to the casual outsider it looks like the whole restart debacle was rigged to provide a winner - something along the lines of a WWE bout.
 
Wonder how much the FIA paid Mercedes not to persue their appeal
 
I think Mercedes would have won the court case but the FIA would then declare the race void & Verstappen would still be champion anyway due to count back of race wins.

The pay off should be huge - sponsorship income tied to performance, lost marketing opportunities from having a record breaking 8x WDC driver, potential lost car sales etc. All the sponsors have lost out as well. No doubt there'll also be a water tight NDA.

Correct it is a gas turbine Lotus 56 Indycar but the driver is Graham Hill. The car was also four wheel drive which is why the front tyres are so large B)
 
Ahh....it was the STP sponsorship that made me think of Al Unser. I seem to remember seeing footage of it running up the hill at Goodwood recently.
