Advice Needed Freesat, strong signal, 146 channels found but none are watchable.

Hi could your hive mind help me please?

I have just moved into a new house with my old Panasonic Freesat Tv, there was a Dish already on the wall.

I have plugged the TV in and gone through auto setup. It found Astra 2 and has a good signal and found lots of channels. and the channel list is there, it even has descriptions of the programmes. Sadly, when I click on the programmes it comes up with 'no service'.

It seems a bit weird does any body have any ideas?

Most likely the dish was previously used with Sky Q, which uses a different type of LNB that isn't fully compatible with the TV. A photo of the dish and LNB will confirm this. Swapping the LNB for a 'mk4 Sky quad' usually solves the issue.

Yes that's a Sky Q wideband LNB. If you're confident using a ladder it isn't too difficult to change.

You will get some channels on one of the cables if you carry out a full / slow scan.

An easier but more expensive option is to replace the box with a Freesat 4K receiver which supports the Sky Wideband LNBs. No ladders required.

Changing the LNB is by no means difficult.
