Same as yesterday, even the moon is invisible.

Zebedee calling.

Not having dozed off I popped out 20 minutes later and the sky had cleared slightly, but no sign of the comet (which should have been around here)

For some reason I didn't check my STA X band recordings at the time. This was it on 19/9/23 (Thanks to EB3FRN for confirmation)

The processing is a bit heavy handed, the original was only 256pix square.

Much better pictures from the high data rate archive. The first one is from around the time of my one in the previous post (Note mine is flipped vertically compared to the NASA pics).
If you have a few hours to waste, take a look at the archive, maybe even find a new comet of your own:

Certainly not from the Northern Hemisphere

If you work on the 3D graphics from the opening post (better with a tablet/phone than PC)


you will see Nishimuru is almost on the opposite side of the Sun, and so what is left of the tail will be facing directly away from us to be almost invisible.

An orbiter around Mars could be getting better pictures.
