Advice Needed White card and Eurosport HD1

Last week a colleague lost their channels on a Sky card with early HD box.

I've managed to get the card paired with the box today, and it can again receive the FTV channels (Dave/Alibi/Yesterday etc.) but the Eurosport HD channel is not functional.

Is this likely to clear if the box is left connected to the router, or has Europsort parted from the FTV 'contract' for ex Sky subscribers ?

Dave and Yesterday are free to air and not free to view - so you should get those with or without the card - so if you lost these then it is NOT a card issue - but box or signal.
(Dave HD is Sky HD subscription. Yesterday is not in HD on satellite.)
Eurosport is "basic" level sky pay channel - and available even without paring.
Eurosport HD is Sky HD subscription, and needs to be paired.

Never knew that Eurosport (and even in HD) was ever FTV, or part of any ex sky subscribers offer. So are you trying to get a channel that was never open to you in the first place? Perhaps they had a "purge" on cards that should not get channels they were getting, and the "repairing" stopped it?

The Eurosport HD was available until the last storm around here (according to the customer)

In the past few days the box only showed the FTA channels, but not Dave/Yesterday/Alibi .

A firmware uppdate by satellite, then connecting the receiver to the internet via ethernet has restored the latter, but not Eurosport

Apparently.....

It's not my system btw.

Eurosport HD shouldnt have been available without an active subscription card paired to the box. Maybe there was a glitch on the card which allowed it?. If the box is losing the fta channels the box may be failing - especially as you describe it as an early box. The local cash it in shop will probably have replacements available - just tell the customer to steer clear of SkyQ boxes as those are Sky's property & shouldnt be sold on.
