Horizon HDSM USB - Latest Firmware and software

Dear friends with USB models. I will help you by sending you a program to upload the list by e-mail. I can also make a list for you. But you have to check for yourself whether the data I will collect is active on the satellite because I don't have a USB meter, only S2, and these are different inputs. Below is the address to which please send information about what satellites to install. When I get this information, I will send my data to Watsapp and I will help you upload the list. You must have a cable to connect the meter. Please also respect the time it takes to reply because I am not fluent in English and am writing through a translator.

Peyu75 Has made up a New transponder list and is helping me in trying to download both the satedit plus updated transponder list to both download and update my Hd-s2 meter
I have been having issues in trying to update my pc with the required program which will open both files from Peyu75 which has been very helpful.
 
my meter has an old dataset of about 10 sats popular for uk/Ireland
I did use it yesterday to set up Hellasat 39e for Romanian family with success ( 50% signal at meter ) 100% sig and quality at box
cracking meters ,I am sure some one can help us :)
 
Hi wondering if anyone can help me I have a horizon HDSM V2.5
There doesn’t seem to be Astra 28.2 on here and there isn’t sky Q I have ordered a cable from eBay rj45 to usb firstly is this the right cable? And how do I get the correct files to load into my meter ? Any help greatly appreciated
 
Peyu75 has very kindly helped me get my HDSM V 2.5 (RJ45 connection) meters working again by creating a new satellite list based on those I chose from current transponder information. My model of meter can only receive SD transmissions so I tried where possible to use transponders used for minor channels that have no HD transmissions yet, assuming they are not likely to be switched off any time soon, unlike SD channels for ITV and BBC that are being phased out at this moment. He also supplied me with the Satedit program plus the associated user manual. You need the Satedit program (plus the special cable) to upload the satellite lists to the meter, but it can also create the satellite lists you will need, it's all explained in the user manual. However that part looks very complicated and that's why Peyu75 did them for me. I think he had some role in preparing the original satellite lists for Horizon some years ago, so he's the absolute expert for these meters.
 
Hello friends, I have a Horizon S2 satellite meter for sale. The meter is practically unused. For the buyer, I will upload transponders from one or more satellites of his choice. Shipping preferably to EU countries because I am from Poland and everything outside the EU is subject to taxation and customs duties. If anyone from the UK is interested, I will be in Manchester from May 3-5. The price for it is £300 or €350, shipping cost to EU countries is €35.

Hi all, i completely new to all this satellite stuff but have just installed a setup in our motorhome. My question is that i have an old Horizon HDSM USB plus meter running v1.041B i would like to upgrade the firmware to the newest including if possible sky q, does anyone have a link so that i can do this? also my main computer is a apple mac can i use this or do i need to dig out my old windows computer. Many thanks

HI,
Just wondering if it might be better to use S2 transponders rather than S ones as all SD channels are in the process of migrating to 'the more efficient' S2 standard anyhow?
I chose four (HiVer, HiHor, LoVer & LoHor) S2 TPs with weakest signal from footprint maps, for where I'm located. These would be worst case TPs and if a strong signal is received for these, all other TPs are likely to be strong also.
Just my take on it, as it has worked well for me!

YES I KNOW I CAN MAKE A NEW FILE BUT IT WILL TAKE FOREVER TO DO
AND I ALLREADY DID A LOAD ON MEATER SO LOST MY ORIGAL FILE
I LOVE THIS METER BUT TO REPROGRAM IT IS TOTALLY GRAY CRAY

Hello EJK65, you are most probably right about s2, but older USB meters cannot measure s2, i.e. HD. Only HDSM s2 models can do this. And that's why you still need to make lists with tp SD.

Yes, apologies, I only realised that the HDSM-S meter can't measure DVB-S2 after my previous post.
As the number of DVB-S transponders on Astra 2 continues to shrink:
Warner Bros Discovery channels convert to DVB-S2 - RXTV
I hope they keep at least one DVB-S transponder operational on each of HL, HH, VL & VH, even if only with radio or data channels.
Otherwise the HDSM will become totally obsolete for Sky/FreeSat. A rather expensive door stop!
It has served me well but I might move mine on and go for a newer one like a GTMedia.
Maybe the HDSM will be useful elsewhere around the world?
I've attached current DVB-S transponder lists for Hotbird, Astra 1 & 2 that I've just made up but can't guarantee how long they'll all be good for!
I hope they work for everyone and keep your HDSM-S meters working for a while longer!

Does anyone have the programming software and a relatively new UK transponder list for the Horizon HD-S2A please?
