Bad update

Does any one think that the latest Freesat update is a useless annoyance. The program guide takes ages to load, and now you have to select another button, the info button to get a summary of the program. This a retrograde update, who ever came up this should be retrained in what is easy for the use of the customer. Can't even get InTouch with Freesat to make a complaint.

Is this an update to the Arris 4k Box?

I have first generation Humax Foxsats (PVR and non-PVR) and they remain far and away the best ever manifestations of true Freesat Boxes.

Every thing is slow to respond to remote commands since the update including navigating round the recordings. Rather than changing the UI which didn't need an update, it would have been preferable to fix the known issues around audio drop outs and glitches when starting to watch a recording!

Yes a good box, but it had the dreaded live pause problem!. If you paused something to do whatever, come the end of the program in real time, live pause would just stop and go into real time!, So you missed the end of the program! Damned annoying!

Still getting caught out even fifteen years on :D

Surely all you then have to do is wind back to where it broke off the paused programme? A bit annoying but not the end of the world or even the end of the programme.

I haven't got the box personally, but when we were in a holiday let, it was a complete pain in the arse, to keep resetting it. Plus, I notice a lot of people posting the same problem on this and other forums...

No, that didn't work, it completely erased what you were watching when it reverted to real time. The only thing to do was to start a recording.

Well that's a retrograde step. I'm pretty sure that my Humax HDR just fills up a potential 2 hours of back recording that you can skip around on at will until you change channel or switch off.

Yes, totally with you. Lines of recordings off the bottom of the screen and inaccessible, Long programme titles only showing the first few words… still not revealed when info button is pressed. It’s a mess. I’m still bloody annoyed that remote recording on the app is now disabled… but this is even worse. What’s going on?

Sounds like a right Pain In The Arris.

The Octagon SF8008 (and to a lesser extent the GTMedia Combo) are running fine on both Freesat and Freeview, though the former is rather touchy abput which USB stick gets stuck in its Arris rear.

Given the broadcasters who own Everyone TV/Freesat/Freeview would rather people didn't watch via satellite they are probably quite happy users of the Freesat 4K box are complaining about it online - it might encourage viewers to buy a Freely television instead :-doh

My Amiko Tripe (sic.) Tuner is also going like a good 'un.
