If it was an iron/nickle meteor then the fragments could be worth up to $55 a gram (40 UK £) to some collectors, get your metal detectors out boy's.

The fresher the meteorite the more it's worth.
 
There is a lot of very soggy ground in that area - Rannoch Moor is hundreds of square miles of squelchy bog. Chances are any fragments will have sunk into the quagmire Some of the valleys will be very very infrequently visited too.
 
A good metal detector can go down to around 2 to 3 meters depending on the ground and how much you want to spend

Which will be swamped by readings from discarded cooking utensils, quad and stolen bikes plus the usual detritus left by the great unwashed.
