I found the Uno tuner to be on par with F15's one - I.e. very good. But yes, it did struggle with some odd transponders. Need to do some more comparisons.

OK, so having tried a number of LNB/feedhorn combinations, I think I squeezed as much signal as I can from the Laminas and know what signal levels I should expect across the arc. It's time to try the Channel Master and see how it behaves in comparison. I will be reusing the same PM as I am for the Laminas but need to make a back-plate.
I say "make"... I am going to reuse the one from the Jumbo* and adapt it to the PM. Easy enough - already drilled two holes, which will mount two rose joints for declination and er... well, that's about as much as I need to do!

I will be remaking the LNB rotator to fit the CM following testing with original arms.

4) Checking signal quality levels across the arc showed that it's slightly lower than what I had with the Laminas (about 0.5dB lower). That said, I haven't spent much time optimising the signal and only tried the GI and IBU LNBs (IBU lost big time). I have a CM feedhorn that I want to try but don't really have many C120 LNBs to play with. Will play some more soon. In the meantime, if someone can suggest a nice C120 LNB that goes well with the CM feedhorn on this dish, I am all ears.
When I was testing I noted that the skew was different for each LNA/B tried, I found that I could get an extra dB tweaking the skew manually on a couple. Looking at probes some were a bit off axis. V & H were not exactly 90 degrees separated on some. The C band Titaniums, especially, vary a lot across the band and between polarisations.
I did some tests comparing SNR with RF level and at 14dB SNR a 2dB change in RF level equated to a 1dB change in SNR. That was with an SR of 27500 3/4 QPSK on the TBS6983. Your 0.5dB SNR may relate to 1dB difference at RF. LO phase noise can also affect the SNR.[/QUO
