Probably a silly question or simple awnser but I'm storing my CM 1m as vertically on its side at the moment, I don't know about the previous owner, but I have had it like this for quite a while whilst it's with me, the surface it's leaning on isn't totally flat.
Will the fact it's vertical and on its side affect the dish in any way?
I suspect not but I'm asking just in case.

I do not think that 1m dish can change its shape from storing vertically. I simply do not have enough space to store dishes horizontally. For example, for winter, I occupied green-house with 1,8m dishes. IMG_20160919_121102(1) (Custom).webp
Smaller dishes all vertically stored in the attic.

I store my dishes face down in my loft-space.

Fortunately, my house is a bungalow with attic conversion, so the storage space is via an easy-access door, not an overhead hatch.

My spare ones are mainly chucked under the hedge - but then they arent worth anything apart from the scrap value :D

the only decent one is vertical up against the fence under the other dishes.

unless you have something abrasive rubbing on the surfaces, a 1m Channel Master will not be damaged by storing vertically. There have been instances of delamination by excess humidity, freezing conditions or sea water , but this is usually localised to existing damage of the fibreglass surface.

Call me crazy but I store my dishes outside mounted on poles looking in a general southerly direction. ;)

Pull the other one; You'll be telling us you actually watch TV, next :-lol

What is TV????

It's a state of being some folk choose to identify with.

A bit like BLT .....

It's laughing gas for the masses... keeps you occupied, wastes away your time, leaves you slightly numb, and the good quality stuff costs money.
(or is that opium?)

Opium costs money ?

I'm certain the manufacturer would recommend to store it in the box it came in, and if not available in a dry, and not too hot place, without direct exposure to sunlight.

But these are devices that are designed to operate for years out in the open exposed to general weather conditions, and usually up high with plenty of sun...

So I tend to (well, have to) store mine where they fit without being to visible to SWMBO and guests in general. That generally means at the back of the shed, as there is no room in the shed.

And that is indeed where my CM 1m currently is:
