Just Sharing This TBS 5925 now implemented on Enigma2/mipsel receivers

OSmini is the receiver, how did I forget to mention that! In theory if you have openPLI/SDG and kernel above 3.8 the card will work. I don't think Azbox ME meets either requirement!

Thanks, I am tempted to get one as I have just bought a 5925 plus with it connected will the OS mini also show 4.2.2 feeds ?
 
4:2:2 has nothing to do with any tuner, 5925 will do 16PSK, 32APSK modulations and multistream reception!

Which other TBS cards are working on SatDreamGr images ? I have tried TBS 5520 and 5580 on cable but unsuccesfully ?
 
I think these are the only three models partially supported. And saying partially, TBS never really supported their USB cards on Enigma2, they never even provided updated sources for these cards to be patched in newer kernels and newer receivers. Even the current drivers (wherever they work) are pretty bad right now, lots of spinners, crashes etc. Generally it was a limited project that was never supported properly, and now with Multistream capable embedded tuners in newer STBs, TBS is not really needed anymore.
Granted, it would be great if the cards still worked well but since the manufacturer didn't care, developers had to move on...

I've 5980 and it works on satdream image and octagon 4008
It needs tbs driver available via feed

I have tbs 5520se and 5925. Only 5925 works using my vu zero (mips) and both cards don't work with my zero 4k (arm)

I have a TBS5520SE but it doesn't work on Enigma2.
Could you include this driver?
Alternatively, could you tell me how to setup the build environment for building the kernel module?

Have you read the thread right through? Support is very limited on E2 for these devices. Even TBS seem to have given up on them.
 
its a shame this seemed to die a slow death. looked very promising at one point.
 
Blame TBS for that.... they never cared in supporting our efforts for full E2 implementation. Then MIS enabled receivers appeared in the market, so...
 
what relation btw TBS and E2 ? :) driver sources available for all DVB USB devices, full MIS+PLS support.
 
Has anyone ever actually got this working? I'm using the latest SatDreamGr 8 on an Octagon SF8008. The enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-tbs packet refuses to install and the attached TBS5925 is not detected.

If possible to have it recognized, could someone post the precise set of steps required to enable this tuner?

Už bolo napísané že karty USB TBS5925 nie sú až tak potrebné, pretože väčšina tunerov na trhu má podporu MIS... Pred tým ako som kúpil nový tuner do DM900 s podporou MIS, som kartu používal s ním a DM920 bol kupovaný už s podporou Dual FBC DVB-S2X Multistream ... Po stiahnutí ovládačov z feedu pracovala bez problémov v OpenATV... Teraz kartu TBS5925 používam spolu s ARMTBS2910... Na špeciálny príjem je stále použiteľná...

It was already written that TBS5925 USB cards are not so necessary, because most tuners on the market have MIS support... Before I bought a new tuner for DM900 with MIS support, I used the card with it, and DM920 was already bought with Dual support FBC DVB-S2X Multistream ... After downloading the drivers from the feed, it worked without problems in OpenATV ... Now I use the TBS5925 card together with the ARMTBS2910 ... It is still usable for special reception ...

Yes, for me the TBS5925 is working with two different boxes, DM800se and SF4008.
I can’t guarantee it will work for you and I will take no responsibility for your installations.
The DM800se was the difficult one:
This is my own instructions how I myself got it working (after days of searching, failing and trying). The OpenMultiboot (OMB) installation is on internal sata SSD.
I made it the whole way from step 1 (below), but I suggest it may be possible to begin with step 4 if OpenATV 7.x is not wanted:

4. Remove possible USB stick to prevent USB boot.

5. Install in flash “openpli-4-release-dm800se-20191216”: https://downloads.openpli.org/builds/dm800se/openpli-4-release-dm800se-20191216.zip

6. Install filebrowser and OMB from menus.

7. Install (“Install local extensions”) att least nfidump_1.0_all.ipk from here: dflash 13.x original (exklusive binaries) - Newnigma²

8. I think it’s good advice to restart the box before using OMB install of images.

9. Remember to run the “Fix mount devices (for Pli)” and to enable OMB (Enable ‘/sbin/open_multiboot’) and “Enable boot meny” in OMB’s configuration menu (blue button).

10. It seems that the *.nfi file has to be packed in a *.zip file for this version of OMB.

11. OMB install image “Satdreamgr-4.0-gst1-dm800se-20181023”:

12. Install TBS drivers in running Satdreamgr (enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-tbs)

13. Be sure TBS5925 is connected and powered and you also probably have to restart the box.

14. Good luck.

I hope this suggestions for instructions may be useful.
May somebody tell if there is any hope for TBS5930 as well?
